While most people think that an engineer conducting a site visit is about as exciting as watching to paint dry, let me assure you it can be anything but dull.
Some time ago, a client of ours gave us the opportunity for a wonderful project in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida – right when spring break was in full swing. The prospect of leaving a snow-covered, frozen New Hampshire was exhilarating and I jumped at the opportunity. Clothes were packed, golf clubs polished and travel arrangements made.

We have completed a cost segregation study on a newly constructed mixed-use Office/Warehouse. The property had a total cost basis of $4,744,250.
Our cost segregation study accelerated $355,819 of the assets into 5-year property and $1,935,654 into 15-year property.
As a result, our client is expected to receive over $491,000 in NPV savings over the next 10 years with over $472,000 available for the current tax year.
