As Senior Project Manager at Bedford, Marcus provides technical engineering support performing engineering-based cost segregation studies, asset management and unit of property studies. Additionally, Marcus oversees Bedford’s EPAct §45L new energy efficient home tax credit. Marcus has more than 32 years’ experience in the construction industry, including senior project management, CPM scheduling, project estimating and construction management consulting. His past 19 years have been devoted to cost segregation, real estate fixed asset tax issues and federal energy efficient tax incentives. Marcus has completed hundreds of studies spanning the US, including healthcare, hotels, multi-family apartments, shopping centers, auto dealerships, resort structures, restaurants, manufacturing, and office buildings. Additionally, as a Certified HERS Rater, Marcus is accredited to certify energy efficient tax credits under EPAct §45L. Prior to joining Bedford, Marcus successfully managed his own engineering tax consulting practice to serve as a resource to support CPA’s, providers and end users for accelerated cash flow and specialized energy incentives. He has been invited to speak to a number of prominent industry associations including the Kansas Society of CPAs, Oklahoma Society of CPAs, Ohio Society of CPAs and many more.
Marcus has a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Technology from East Tennessee State University and his Civil Engineering requirements from Southern Polytechnic State University.
Marcus is a Senior Member and past Treasurer of the American Society of Cost Segregation Professionals (ASCSP) and has served on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Education Committee for the national organization.
